Christ stands between me and God,
as a Shield protecting me
from the white hot, burning fire
of the hate and anger of God.
That burning hate against
evil and sin was poured out on Christ,
He who never sinned.
The only fire I will see is a
cleansing fire,
a purifying fire
that will leave me clean –
not destroyed.
Not so for those who are not Believers.
That wrath –
that consuming fire -
will be poured out on them
as it was on Christ for me.
