Not About Me

This is not about me –
not about being understood
or even about understanding.
The goal is not my happiness –
it’s not about what I want;
how I feel is not the issue here.
I need to take myself completely out of the picture
and put God in center focus.
His Will and His Plan
are at the center.
My job is to watch the plan unfold –
to praise Him for His works,
to forget myself.
It’s His work, His story, His plan,
not mine.
He invites me into His masterpiece;
I play the part He gives me –
to bring Him glory,
not to bring myself anything at all.
It’s not about me.
